Ultra Violet: Pantone’s 2018 Color of the Year

It’s my favorite blog to write about every year, Pantone’s Color of the year. This year it’s an oh so gorgeous, vibrant color with so many color schemes to choose from! When I saw that this year’s color was Ultra Violet I immediately knew it would be a fantastic color for weddings this year! There are a vast variety of flowers that can be used for 2018’s color of the year! I loved Greenery from 2017 but I’m in love with this year’s color.
I had a few flowers in mind for this blog, but when I texted Laurie, the owner of B/A Florist she almost immediately sent me about three texts worth of flowers in the hue of purple. There are so many I won’t feature them all here but I can’t wait to show you some fantastic ideas on how to incorporate Ultra Violet in your wedding!

Ultra Violet Flowers

How cool are those cool water roses!? Pun absolutely intended.

A mix of clear and violet hued bottles, with sprigs of flowers in shades of purple adds a soft and simple touch, and is a great way to incorporate ultra violet into your wedding.

I love, love, LOVE incorporating produce like this purple artichoke into centerpieces! Combine them with an abundance of greenery down the center of the table for a royal feast feel!

Naked cakes are trending right now, as well as having desserts other than cake. I love how this wedding combined the naked cake with luscious looking lavender and cream macaroons. The sprigs of lavender are the perfect touch!

What I like about Ultra Violet is that it doesn’t have to be a overpowering color in your wedding. It can be added in small touches to compliment the over all color scheme. I love how it’s displayed in this table setting, in the glassware, the pops of lisianthus, and the purple in the succulents.

Cool water roses, purple hydrangea, purple fuji mums, soft pink roses and wax flower, seeded eucalyptus and more make up this bright and springy bouquet perfect for the ultra violet wedding.
